Gateway Media Literacy Partners, Inc is a 501c3 organization registered in the State of Missouri.

Who Should Join?
Anyone interested in the impact of media in the world today can benefit. Whether you are a consumer – adult or child, an educator – in K-12 or higher education, involved in the arts, media production, a policy maker, or in the world of business, this organization can offer benefits for you. Our collective and united voices can spread the word on the importance of media literacy and media literacy education. We encourage gatherings that bring our members’ stakeholders together to learn and use critical thinking skills that make them media literate.

Why Should I Join? What are the Partnership Benefits?
Media literacy is a powerful social institution, critical to understanding how and where we live, and having skills to consider how we are impacted can provide a rich opportunity for awareness, education and growth both personally and professionally. In addition, your voice is important to add to our collective energy around healthy living and responsible citizenship. We envision GMLP to be a more effective and more sustained role as a change agent, in a global, media-saturated society with your membership.

 

Who Are Our Partners?
GMLP is an asset-rich organization.  Our citizen base includes public and private pre- k-12 teachers, parents and administrators; higher-education faculty and administrators from various academic disciplines; after-school program leaders and employees; arts and culture leaders; health and allied-health professionals; media businesses; media communicators and producers; public-policy makers, public and private librarian-technologists,  and business professionals. …generally, all citizens who see media literacy as a nexus for change!

There are several GMLP partnership categories from which to choose, all with key benefits!

Individual members: $75….as an individual member, you are in the GMLP database and able to connect with others in the media literacy community; you get advanced notice of GMLP-sponsored activities, and where there is free access to programs that would otherwise have an entry fee., you have a vote on key organization decisions,  and, you receive a year-long subscription to the St. Louis Journalism Review.*

Organization Partnerships: $275 – As an organization member, you may add three names from your organization onto the GMLP membership roster and have four votes instead of one when GMLP is counting organization votes.   You are able to have a link to your organization from our web site; you  are notified of specific sponsorship opportunities, i.e. Media Literacy Week , Health Literacy Forum.

Student Partnerships: $25 -  Students get all the same benefits as individual members.

All members have access to GMLP’s  open survey whereby they can find and seek out possible collaborators and partners….and also find  help from others, in getting media literacy efforts started in their own shops.
